My London :-)))))

... time come and goes,
   what stays back are memories
of the moments spent with dear ones....
which remain etched in our heart forever...
   Wishing you great New Year!
May all your dreams and wishes come true.
Have a happy, prosperous and fun filled year ahead!

I still can't believe that 14 people ( friends)  from all parts of the world were able to take some time off their rather busy schedule and go into this little adventure!
London is wonderful, but 4 days were definitely not enough to be in the Royal town! From excellent gastronomy through charming vintage shops in Covent Garden, street artists on Trafalgar square and Picadilly, exciting Camden market, overpriced Harrods, to stroll along the Thames, good old Big Ben, the London Eye, my friend´s birthday in Ziloufs bar where I felt like home, London definitely won my heart and I know I will be back very soon!

It isn’t officially Christmas until the lights come on and you can be sure to find some of the most spectacular Christmas lights in London at Regent Street! In Christmas season the streets of London are glowing from all the lights and people's smiles, making it an amazing place to be in, full of great vibrations and atmosphere.

The weather was perfect and mostly sunny with some rain when we went to Camden on Saturday morning. Camden is well known for its markets which are major tourist attractions at weekends, selling goods of all types including fashion, lifestyle, books, food, junk/antiques and more bizarre items. I got there two pairs of sunglasses, some unknown artist's paintings and souvenirs.

After Camden Market we stoped at Harrods –the biggest department store in Europe.Their moto is Omnia Omnibus Ubique—All Things for All People, Everywhere. The sales were over 75% but still very expensive for us little people !

Since the deaths of Diana princess of Wales , and Dodi Al Fayed ,Mohamed Al-Fayed's son, two memorials commissioned by Al-Fayed have been erected inside Harrods to the couple. The first, located at the base of the Egyptian Escalator, consisting of photographs of the two behind a pyramid-shaped display that holds a wine glass smudged with lipstick from Diana's last dinner as well as what is described as an engagement ring Dodi purchased the day before they died. The second memorial, unveiled in 2005 and located by the escalator at door three is titled "Innocent Victims", is a bronze statue of the two dancing on a beach beneath the wings of an albatross.

That evening my hubby and I went to dinner at Jamie´s Italian restaurant in Covent Garden. The food was delicious. We ordered wild mushroom cillindretti pasta pillows, 30-day matured prime rib, prosciutto and shaved pear salad, and baked shetland salmon, salted caramel ice cream with butterscotch sauce and almond amaretto. Great atmosphere and restaurant staff were fab!

I am glad we visited Winter wonderland! It is free entry , if you just want to soak up the festive atmosphere, drink, eat and browse the Christmas markets. There are over 100 festive rides & attractions such as Giant observating wheel , Ice age 4 Ice rink, Christmas circus, rides, Santa land and best Christmas market ever!

Although we were expecting the end of the world we returned home safe with lots of plans for New Year! I hope you´ll like the pics! That is all for now!
