From Russia with love!

Many people are still slightly wary about the idea of a holiday in Russia - and if you say you're going, your friends may look at you with a mix of awe and bewilderment.
Russia is unique country with its vast territory providing residence for millions of people and  is the only country in the world washed by 12 seas and 10 time zones!
Moscow is the first city in the world estimated by the number of milliarders, so it proves its status of the world's most expensive city.

The population of Saint-Petersburg is approximately  4,8 million people and is the world's most northern city. From late May to early July the nights are bright in St Petersburg, with the brightest period, and they are called the White Nights. Also its stands at such a high latitude that the sun does not descend below the horizon enough for the sky to grow dark. In fact night becomes curiously indistinguishable from day, so much so that the authorities never need to turn the city's streetlights on! It was amazing, and pretty schocking! Two weeks without night! I went crazy a little!

Throughout two weeks, we visited many landmarks in the city and all of them were very breath taking for me. I was so captured by many of the buildings that I just had to walk up to them and touch them. Everyone that I met was so friendly and real, and beautiful I wanted to touch them also, but restrained myself for obvious reasons!
Russian people like celebrations. They take a chance of every single reason to treat their friends for their birthday or a wedding, or a promotion within the company. Cakes, sweets, Russian sandwiches are always welcome! And lot of vodtka too!
Hospitality plays a significant role in the Russian mentality and the Russian character, so once you make friends with Russian people you will surely value this amazing and unique feature of the so-called "Wide Russian soul".

The Russian literature is known worldwide, people from all over the world read Russian writers with pleasure.I can´t forget to mention that we visited house of Alexander Pushkin – one of the most famous Russian poets and the father of russian language. Russian people really read a lot, and you can see them everywhere with the book in a hand!

However, seriously speaking, Russian cities are a fount of vibrant culture for people who appreciate art, paintings, and history. Russia has managed to preserve priceless works of art, centuries-old masterpieces and icons. Any city in Russia you go to will have a museum, be it an Art Gallery, a Museum of Art, a Local History Museum, a Museum of War, etc. Most of large Russian cities have at least several museums.
Hermitage is my favorite of course.I have never experienced such a high energy.
The extra ordinary collection of about 2,300,000 works of art –including 14,000 paintings, 12,000 statues, and 600,000 prints and drawings- is exhibited in over 300 rooms.
It is hard to compare it with any other museum I visited before!

At the end, geographical facts, sightseeing facts, russian people , culture, art, and of course russian food and drink are enough to lead you to this remarkable country, and if you ever have a chance to visit, don´t hesitate!
